Well boys and girls!! This is gonna be an early morning do!!! 😲😲😲

7.30am- leave Burnham, meet at the garage as usual.
7:45am – Arrival & Registration of boats. Tea, coffee and bacon rolls available (obviously we won’t be there by 7.45am, but I will fill the forms out to take with us to save time)
8:30am – Launch boats. We can launch once there is sufficient water available
9:15am – Race briefing. This will be held in the Wivenhoe Sailing Club. Due to maximum building capacity, we must ask that this is only attended by the cox’s of each race, who can then relay the information to their crews
10:00am First race
12:45pm Boat Recovery
12pm – 2:30pm Refreshments: Warming veggie chilli with bread roll. Tea and coffee
2:45pm Approx. Results/Prize giving

Outline of course:
The start line will be between the Wivenhoe Sailing Club Starting Hut and a set of two buoys. The turning point will be at the mouth of the Roman River, marked by another buoy. The finish line will be between the Wivenhoe Sailing Club Starting Hut and the set of two buoys. Boats will be started at two minute intervals

Access to Wivenhoe by road:
Please see attached map (I will send you this separately if anyone wants it) from the Wivenhoe Town Council regarding current access routes into Wivenhoe and road closures. Over the Christmas break, the road has been open again, but it is not clear from their website whether this will be the case in January. We have highlighted a recommended route to Wivenhoe Sailing Club for all towing vehicles via Bowes road (follow signage for Cook’s Shipyard). The turning on Park Road is quite tight, so we would recommend all towing vehicles to come via Bowes road.

Trailer Storage:
Please stow your trailers at the top of the slipway and in the dinghy park area

Car Parking:
There are limited parking facilities in and around Wivenhoe Sailing Club, please pay attention to the parking restrictions. Please try to limit the number of vehicles you bring if at all possible. There is a public car park opposite the Wivenhoe Sailing Club, Β£4 for over six hours parking. Please note, parking is not permitted in the Wivenhoe Sailing Club car park

Pontoon access:
Due to health and safety issues, we must insist that the pontoon is reserved for crew change overs only. No spectating from the pontoon. There are several vantage points along the waterfront which will give great views of the race.
