Hi all,
I have now set up a fundraising page
https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/dawnwood1If you are rowing please can pay your £10 (or more if you are feeling generous) direct to this. We will then get gift aid added :-)
If you are not rowing, you can still donate to this worthy cause even a £1 will help.
Please note change to the crew. We will now be entering a ladies team on willow and the boys will be entering the race on kayaks.
This race is not part of the harkers yard series- it is organised by maldon little ships club specifically to raise money for the RNLI.
We need to raise some money so we will be asking for £10 donation per rower and if you are able to raise any more from friends and family, every little helps. :-)
Fancy dress will be funny hat and tinsel or anything you fancy wearing!!

MLSC RNLI Sponsored Row & Gig Race Sunday 27th December 2015
Hi Folks !
The time has come round again for our next sponsored rowing event in aid of the RNLI. This must be approaching the 40th time since the MLSC started organising this event but it has changed considerably in recent years with the upsurge and interest shown by the coastal rowing clubs.
The gigs have added a new dimension of tradition and interest which is good, particularly if the rowing clubs join into the spirit of the event by encouraging their crews to raise as much sponsorship as they can for the Lifeboats, rather than just entering to compete for the Trophies on offer.
To make the event more enjoyable and safer for everyone and more competitive for the Gigs, as last time there are two courses to keep the smaller boats apart from the gigs. This worked well even when we had to shorten course for the gigs due to high winds.
I would like to thank everyone for their support and sponsorship in previous years especially those crews who manage to raise large sponsorships and also the stalwart traditional rowers in dinghies, kayaks, canoes or SUP for their loyal support and superb fancy dress over the years.
We welcome you all again this year and with your help hope to raise even more sponsorship for the RNLI topping the £9100 we achieved last year.
If you are thinking of taking part please start to organise your boats, your crews and fancy dress (great but optional) but above all start to sort out your sponsorship from family friends and businesses.
Best of luck and we look forward to seeing you hoping for reasonable weather and a good turnout of crews and spectators. Please contact me if you need more details or have any questions.
